Tried googling it and just managed to scare myself regarding possible complications so had to stop. How should I deal with it?

Are you breast feeding? Breast milk squeezed into the eye is a great way to cure it.

Warm boiled water with a tiny of salt on a cotton pad- cleared up DD's conjunctivitis very quickly

I was going to say BM too Shane I only found out after I forked out €50 for GP visit but at least I never filled the prescription. BM is magic.

How old is baby? If newborn you need to get a swap because very very rarely it can be dangerous.
Or it could be a blocked tear duct which will mostly clear up on its own.
But either way you need to get baby looked at.

Baby is almost 8 months. I can manage breastmilk I think. Will have a go tomorrow although I imagine it being a messy process.

Speak to your pharmacist. They gave me drops for my little ones eyes about the same age which worked. Also cleaned them with cooled boiled water and salt.
