Does taking gaviscon hurt?

Hi. Dd (13) has reflux and takes omeprozale daily but sometimes has to take gaviscon to help her throat. The gaviscon always really hurts her throat when taking it. Is that normal?
Thanks. Not sure if I need to tell gp.

It shouldn't.
I take gaviscon and it's never hurt my throat.

Thanks. It's always hurt her throat (she'said only taken it about 10 times all in all) and I assumed it was normal. I assume it's because her throat is sore?

I drank a lot of gaviscon when pregnant and never had a problem. I would definitely discuss with GP.

Thanks. Feel bad now for assuming it was to be expected. Will ask a pharmacist I think tomorrow as won't get to speak to a gp for a while as they're impossible to get hold of.
She only has it when her throat is sore so I assumed it just the soreness.

No. it it does feel a bit odd to me. It's the aniseed or mint. My dd hates taking it.

She might have a sore throat not connected to the gaviscon,
But I've never had a sore throat caused by it.
Reflux can cause it.
Do mention it to the doctor.

It doesn't hurt my throat but it does feel weird, like kind of numb feeling.

I think it must be a sore throat causing the pain when the gaviscon goes down. She only has gaviscon if her throat is really sore.

I think having something none aniseed has got to help too.

The acid from the reflux can make your throat sore. I've taken gaviscon during pregnancy and it's never hurt.

I had acid burns due to reflux, gaviscon felt like it was burning, it did not last long thou after swallowing.

Have her try some when her throat isn't already sore and see how it feels. It's not as if it'll do her any harm to take one unnecessary dose.

Hi. Thanks for messages . No, it doesn't continue to burn once it's gone down so that makes sense, canyou. Notapuffin- good idea. I've also bought peppermint sort too.
