Ideas for a care package for 10 yo girl

Hi - my little boy (2) is currently in remission from AML after spending a big chunk of the year in hospital having intense chemo. One of the children we met at hospital with the same diagnosis as ds has been told she has relapsed and now needs intense chemo then a bone marrow transplant. Totally devastated for the family. I am popping in to visit next week and was looking for ideas for a a small gift for her. My 2 are little (2 and 3) so not sure what 10 year olds are into!
Thanks you

A lot of the girls in DS class enjoy crafty things. That might be something she could pick up and put down as and when she feels up to it. Things like friendship bracelets or jewellery kits.
I know some 10-year-olds who love magazines like Heat, but you'd have to know her to know if that's her thing.
Chocolate always goes down well, especially a grown up box of chocs, or the big bars.
My nieces liked it when I got them hot water bottles, or you could get cosy bed socks.

My DD was in hospital for a while at that age and loved a very beautiful notebook from a William Morris inspired range with a lock on it that someone bought her - blank pages, good quality thick paper, lovely hard back cover like a book, sorry inviting to write and draw in and a tactile item in itself. She spent a lot of time writing and drawing in it.

Thank you both for replying. Some brilliant ideas. I think I may get one of those beautiful notebooks, craft things and a box of chocs. X

Lip balm, unless chemo makes that a no-no.

If her parents are OK with it, some little bottles of brightly coloured nail varnish.
YY to crafty stuff and any stationery.
