My son is 5 months and the gp has noticed undescended testicles. I've been asked to check them in the bath. I forgot to ask how.

I know to feel for pea sized lumps but in what location. Does it matter if they are high in the scrotum? That's where I think I can feel them

My son has this and we are on the list for operation. Was discovered at birth and then we were told to go back at 6mos if it hadn't appeared and we would get referred. They operate after 6 mos as it's very unlikely to appear on it own after that.

In the bath you should be able to confidently feel that they are completely within the scrotum. They will descend the most in the warm - so if you think you can feel them high in the scrotum then that is useful information to take back to the GP.
