any ideas? worried about my DS

I have a Drs appointment at 4pm for DS3 (3) but I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas what this could be in the meantime.

Yesterday evening he was eating dinner and suddenly went very pale and said his tummy hurt, he was clutching it and crying and then was better in about 5 mins.

35 mins later, the same.

He's been waking all night and had the same thing all day, every 35-40 mins he'll start screaming and crying and dropping to the floor writhing around with his knees to his chest saying his tummy hurts 'way bad'

He is pointing to the space under his belly button, it's my hard and o any feel any lumps. He cries a lot when I push on it and says it hurts when his tummy 'springs back' (I'm not 100% but I think he means when I let go of pushing it in)

He's pooing and weeping normal with no issue, he's not eating much and feels quite warm but my thermometer has gone awol.
No vommiting or other symptoms.
He's fine in between these pains.

Is it more on one side than the other? If it's around/below his belly button and moves down and to the right, it could be appendicitis? Apparently that hurts more when you release it after pressing on it.

Also if you read up on symptoms and they do fit appendicitis it says to call doctor immediately.

I would get appendicitis ruled out

I don't know if it's that!
The pain seems severe when he gets it but he's completely fine in between.
I've had my appendix out and I'm pretty sure the pain was constant.

They've put us in the sit and wait clinic at 4pm.

Some appendix problems can grumble for a while before they blow

I'll keep a close eye, hopefully he won't get any worse before 4 and the wait won't be too long at the surgery.

It took 3 days to diagnose my appendicitis and it burst as they opened me up in theatre!Confused

My 4.5yo had very similar symptoms recently. It's very important to get seen by a doctor to rule out more serious causes like appendicitis so you are in the right place. My DD had an X-Ray and ultrasound which found enlarged lymph nodes. She's been in pain for 5 weeks but it is gradually getting better. The pain has been distressing for her but it was reassuring to know we had eliminated more serious conditions. For my DD I was told that appendicitis tends to cause constant pain, inflamed lymph nodes are intermittent and the pain never got bad enough to wake her up at night, which apparently is another sign for seeking urgent medical help.

If the pain is worse when you release ir is prob appendicitis!

We're in our local children's ward waiting to be transferred to another hospital as ours doesn't operate on children under 6.
They're thinking most likely appendix. Sad

Ah, no big surprise there

The rebound pain was the clue. Good luck with everything x

They kept him at the local overnight in the end. DP stayed with him.
The surgeons at the other hospital said to keep him if they didn't think he was imminent of his appendix rupturing because it's kinder to take him in calmly in the morning than in a rush late at night.
His blood work shows very slightly raised white cell count but nothing major.
He's spent the night with a very high temp and lots of pain still he's also shaking like a leaf the whole time. They're giving him fluids through the cannula.
I'm hoping they do something for him today!

Poor thing - hope he gets a bed at the hospital soon and treatment gets underway and all goes well.

Guess that's more grey hairs....
