DS (10) has flat feet and overpronation . He has had innersoles made at the hospital for that last few years.
He wants to start running for exercise so we saw the orthotic dept again and they made a carbon fibre set that are meant to be better for running.
We tried them in running shoes in a high st sports shop but they either wouldn't fit or raised his foot too high in the shoe so that he couldn't keep them on.
Decided to go to a proper running shop and ask their advice.
They also had problems fitting them in ANY trainers. They suggested that they made a pair for him (they take referals from a local private hosp). So £45 later we have another pair of innersoles but we are having the same problem AND they are coming apart already- not to mention the sharp edges.
I'm at my wits end and don't know what to do next.
Would it be very damaging for my son NOT to wear them in trainers etc and just keep them in his school shoes?
Any advice would be great.
