My lo was eating some pasta with cheese sauce and peppers, mushrooms and onion tonight. He rubbed some of the sauce on his face and a few mid later it turned bright red where the sauce touched. I don't think it was the cheese as he's had pasta sauce with cheese lots of times and always gets it on his face. Assuming it may be the peppers or possibly onions. Has anyone had a similar issue and how did it pan out? Do I need to work out what caused it and stop him eating it? Do I need to go to the docs? He didn't have any other issues apart from the red face.

How old? My DD had similar when she was small....about one. We think it was cheese. However she didn't seem to have any ill effects and though it happened again about twice more over the years up to her third birthday, she's now 8 with no signs of allergies. She does have sensitive skin though and will react to certain washing powders or cheap metal jewelery.

8 months. It definitely isn't cheese as I tried some on his skin this morning and there was no reaction. I'm fairly sure it was peppers.
