So two days ago my baby (19m old) was acting under the weather, clingy, off food, randomly sobbing etc but still able to smile and act normal most of the day.
Yesterday we noticed one blister style thing on his upper lip. By eve it looked like his lips had seelled and were all bumpy(blisterish) he had a bad night waking and crying alot. This morning he was fine. Mouth still looked sore but other than tiredness from his rubbish nights sleep he was ok in himself. Dinner time came and he got upset trying to eat but managed tk keep food down. Its bedtime again and hes back to screaming, which makes his mouth looks sore again.

What could it be!? Thought impetigo but not at all scabby or yellow. More like bumps under the lip. Then thought maybe teething thats turned to a rash. But he has all but his back molars and i cant see them popping up!? His tonsils are not red and seem clear of spots!?

Any ideas!?

DD had these symptoms as a toddler. Turned out to be heretic stomatitis which is something like the cold sore virus in the mouth. Very painful but it did go after a week or so.

So generally speaking its probably some
Kind of virus that should go on its own. Hand foot and mouth doesnt require any treatment if it does turn out to be that does it!? Hes not too bad just mainly at night. Could i put sudocrem on mouth sores or best to just leave it?

Could be hand foot and mouth or herpes stomatitis. If herpes stomatitis the GP can prescribe an antiviral which will help clear it quicker. Either way it will be sore, plenty of calpol and ibuprofen and ice lollies and cool drinks will help
