Threadworm-Wash bottom for 6wks?!!

My son has threadworms. He has taken Ovex. We all have. The tablet info says to wash his bottom every morning for 6 weeks! This seems a lot. Those of you who have been through this, is that what you have done? Do I really have to get him in the shower every morning before school? I have done so far.

It is the best way to get rid as they come out and lay their eggs at night and a bum wash in the morning helps stop the spread. You could just use a hot flannel (and burn it after)

OK - I was trying to think of a halfway house. I will give the second dose. Wish I had a bidet!

Have you thought about using a bottle filled with water and pouring it, a home made bidetWink just get him to lean forward or back according to where you need to reach. Ppl from some parts of the world do this every day as normal hygiene practiceSmile

It's best to yeah.. My son had them two months ago and he's either had a bath or a wash every morning since - He has a bath every day anyway so rather than his evening bath, I usually bath him first thing and a wash in the evening.

It's because worms lay their eggs at night. Therefore if you wash them away there's less chance of your child re-infecting themselves.

It puts my mind at rest anyway. Knowimg he's going to school with a clean bottom! ☺
