Patent ductus arteriosus closure in 17 month old

My DS is having his PDA closure next week by catheter, anyone's little ones been through this op and know recovery time or what to expect? Thanks.

Have you tried the heartline boards? You'll get very good advice there. Two of my dd's have PFO / small ASD + VSD but not has surgery. I believe the recovery time for a catheter procedure is quite quick and that it's a straightforward procedure (doesn't make it easy for parents though!). The Heartline boards are full of people with experience of paediatric heart surgery.

My DD had catheter closure of a large PDA when she was 8 months old. We were in for 3 nights but that was only because there was an issue with her leg afterwards. She was fine pretty much within a few hours and eating as normal after a couple of days, just a little bit more sleepy may be.
