Could this be a curved spine or just bad posture?

My daughter has just turned eight. Yesterday she was trying on a new dress and appeared to be standing awkwardly as if she was sticking her tummy and bottom out at the same time! It looked as if her spine was curved in at the bottom, a bit like an s shape. I have never noticed this before. It is not noticeable when she is sitting down. I am going to make an appointment with the GP but I just wondered if anyone else had experienced anything like this. My husband said it could just be that she's growing and her different body parts were growing at different rates.

Get her to bend over and look at her from behind. If she has Scoliosis, you'll see it.
