Absence seizures?

I'm new to this so wont be using abbreviations as I have no idea what they all stand for lol
My little boy is 17 months old and recently I've noticed he keeps spacing out. It's not just me who's picked up on it, friends and family have said about it too. When he does it he doesn't have any twitching or eye movement like a seizure but I can touch him, speak to him and move things right infant of his face and there is no reaction. It only lasts a few seconds and can happen any when from playing with other kids or having cuddles on the sofa. I basically want to know if I'm looking too much into this or if I should see his gp about it.

My DS has Absence Seizure Epilepsy too, has been fine on meds for the last couple of years.
First step is to try to film him during an episode, then take him to the GP and show the film evidence.
They'll refer you to a specialist for an ECG and get him on meds to control the seizures.

My friend's little boy had this; it started later though at about 5 years old. He did as you described, seemed to just zone out for a 10 to 20 seconds then be fine. He did a little nodding at the same time sometimes.

I'm pleased to say that he grew out of it eventually (around aged 9/10 iirc), but she did take him to the GP and he was on meds throughout the time that he had it. It was a mild-ish form of epilepsy.
