Is this rotavirus?

Dd2 (aged 4) has had diarrhoea on and off since last Monday (so nine days now) plus mild vomiting three days ago. She is absolutely well otherwise, eating end drinking normally and full of energy. Her diarrhoea isn't that frequent ( averaging once or twice a day with one gets between) but when she needs to go, she needs to go.
I spoke to the GP earlier as I was becoming concerned but she said its most likely to be a virus and to bring her in if no ether by the end of the week.

I was wondering if it could be rotavirus as this seems to involve prolonged diarrhoea.

My DS (2) had rotavirus and ended up in hospital - de- hydration. He vomited and had the worst nappies I've ever seen for 6 days continually. We were in the USA at the time and I was frighten to take him to hospital but when his lips were cracking I knew enough was enough. I'm not sure how you can tell what is rota virus over D & V bug - I only know because they tested his stools.

I'm sure as this is an old post your little one is well now and hopefully it's all a distant memory. But I thought I'd add my experience incase it helped anyone in the future.
