Blood test for 8 yo dd

My 8 yo dd has been run down for months. She gets tired very easily, and often looks quite peaky and pale. She gets weepy going into school sometimes, saying she doesn't feel well, but if I kept her home every time she said that she'd miss a lot of school.

Some of this is general anxiety (highly strung, sensitive child), which I have some tools to deal with but am also seeking support for that and the school is being helpful. I may also be a bit over protective of her and keep her home some days when she might have actually coped okay. But I think I'm in the normal range for that, and I struggle with the decision each time because there isn't anything really obvious going on.

But she also had a nasty virus in the spring (huge glands) which she might just be taking a long time to recover from. We didn't have a blood test at the time because it was a bit traumatic for her and the treatment would have been the same anyway. For more info, she is also asthmatic (on Montelukast and inhalers), quite a bendy, flexible child, (but doesn't have the stretchy skin for EDF), very constipated (on Movicol despite good diet with LOTS of fruit and veg), wets the bed (on Desmopressin after trying lots of other things). We are giving her over the counter tonics suitable for children for the past couple of weeks. Homeopathy has helped with the weeping but not solved it.

So now we are all reaching the stage where we want to rule things out and know what is going on. So we are going for a blood test next week. They are doing a full blood count, various tests for liver, kidney, thyroid, and general inflammation (ESR and CRP) but I want to make sure we don't have to go back because we missed one! I should ask for an antibody test of some kind, I think? Anything else?

For my own mental health please do not try to diagnose her as I will just get completely freaked out, but any thoughts about what tests she should have would be great.

I'm sorry she has been so unwell - I would ask them to rule out glandular fever which can take a long long time to recover from. Not trying to diagnose her at all but the big gland virus thing rang bells for me. Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

Thank you! I spoke to the nurse and did ask for that test to be conducted at the same time. Hopefully we'll get everything that can be got at the first pass all at once.
