DD 12 lots of stomach aches - should I be worried

She's getting lots of stomach aches which result in time of school. Sometimes with a headache and nausea but is not sick. Feeling a little bit at my wits end as she's had quite a few days off this term. Not sure whether I should take her to the GP or whether it's a waste of time.

Has she started her periods yet?

DD used to get lots of stomach aches in the months leading up to starting them.

she could have a low level virus. dd had this last year. glands in her stomach could be up giving her a constant ache and generally feeling unwell.
the doctor may be able to feel them but i would get her to rest, give her a berocca every day or sambucol or something to pick her up a bit.

Abdominal migraine?

Thanks - she's not started her periods yet but I do try and keep an eye on whether there is any pattern to them - seems not though.

That is one of the reasons I'm thinking GP would be a waste of time though.

I think I do need to build her up a bit - berocca is a good idea.

No ideas as to what it could be, I'm afraid, but in a similar situation atm with dd (13)
She feels sick every morning (actually vomits around 3 mornings a week), and is nauseous after food.
This is now week 7. GP took bloods for kidney function, low blood sugar and anaemia which all came back clear, as did the stool sample.
Back to docs on Thurs as still no improvement. She cried this pm after school because she's so fed up of feeling sick. It's awful.
