Hi. I'm new to MN. My 22 month old son was exposed to chickenpox 23 days ago. Definite exposure (friends spots came out that night). They played together for hours that afternoon in one room. Sharing toys cups etc. My son came out with some spots on sat morn (21 days after) some looked like acne, some just tiny pin pricks. They're on his torso at nappy area, some on his back, armpits and two on his temple. However none look angry and none have blisters. Could this be CP? Please help. Don't know if I need to stay in just incase it is.

any change? Someone else described cp starting just like that. But 23 days is very long incubation period, longer than I've heard of before. Could have caught it from someone else, of course.

Yes I suppose he could've caught it elsewhere. No there's no change. No better no worse. Just wish they'd blister or disappear so at least I'd know.

hi

my ds was exposed to chicken pox numerous times on the level you talked about. Didn't get chicken pox until the fourth time or so he was exposed. he was eight be then.

I would say he doesn't have chickenpox as there are no blisters. chickenpox is distinctive in it's blisters.

I do add I am not medically qualified!

Has he had a runny nose in the 21 days? Thats often an additional symptom.

Has he had any vaccines like the MMR recently? That causes a delayed rash.
