Mumsnetters aren't necessarily qualified to help if your child is unwell. If you have any serious medical concerns, we would urge you to consult your GP.

do you take your kids to school/nursery/baby groups with a bad cold, bad cough or temperature?

All depends on how the child is in themselves

Cough or cold. Yes. Temperature, no as usually properly poorly or indicative of a virus that you don't want to spread around. coughs and colds are a normal part of life though.

Not baby group though, I wouldn't take them to baby group, not fair to inflict a cold on little newborns etc. But school/nursery/childminder fine. Imagine the time we'd all have to take off work if you couldn't send your child anywhere when they had a cold!

But nursery/childminder might have little babies too. Most take them from 6 weeks. Or if they go to a childminder, they might in turn then go to baby group with that childminder.

I am inclined to say carry on with normal life as long as no temperature and obviously not flu, whooping cough, pneumonia, chicken pox, measles, mumps, impetigo, scarlet fever, D&V.
