ds2 is almost 7mo. he has been on solid food for about 3 weeks now. he's not eating much and is still bf on demand,

normally he would poo every day at least, he hasnt done a substantial poo since tues am. On thurs after a lot of straining he produced 2 small pellet like poos. yesterday and today he has been making his poo noise/face and straining but nothing Hmm

what do i do? getting a bit worried but he does not seem to be in any discomfort.

Boiler water with a little sugar added usually does the trick or now he is weaning how about a prune purée?

what solids is he eating? banana, rice and other foods can bung them up. Is he taking water with meals? Or is he taking extra breastfeeds alongside the meals?

Prunes, extra fluids, cutting out constipating foods can help.

BF babies can go a while between poos but if he is producing pellets then sounds like constipation.

p.s. water for drinking doesnt have to be boiled as from 6 months they can have water straight from the tap. It doesnt need sugar in it though

hmm he has had banana. We offer him water from a cup but he doesnt manage it very well yet. I am offering extra bf after feeds though.

Same problem here, my paed recommended prune purée - no more constipation, in fact the sheets and sleeping bag are on the line after a huge poonami!
