Facial injury...what could this be!?

Ds2 fell at pils - he was jumping on the sofa and hit his cheek against the corner of a wooden sideboard :(
(No, I dont know why they let him jump in the sofa)
I put an ice pack on it, gave him some calpol and checked the inside of his mouth and teeth and they seemed fine. No problems eating or drinking.
It's been 3 weeks and although the bruising is mostly gone there is a lump under the bruise - I have googled this and it would seem to be a heamatoma.
But.
Today I noticed that when he smiles or moves his mouth there is a sort of dent in his cheek where he hit himself.
Taking him to the gp tomorrow, but do any of you know what this could be?
Am sitting here really worried and dh is being his usual self...I.e. not interested. He has form for not taking dc health issues seriously.

Hmm not sure. I had a heamatoma on my leg after paintballing. It wasn't a lump but a huge bruise blood blister type thing under the skin. It took a year to disappear! I would def get him checked him out though could just be swelling and bruising coming out

It sounds like some scar tissue may have formed which is tougher than normal tissue so restricts movement slightly. I think DHs cousin had something similar but don't know what the solution was if there was one.

The dent is still there but is only noticeable when he smiles.
I did take him to the drs again and they contacted max fax at the local hospital but they wouldn't see him unless it got worse (which it didnt).
