Has anyone's LO had measles even though they've been vaccinated? What were the symptoms and do you ever get measles without the rash (or with very few spots)?
A friend of mine told me last week that her DDs (one fully vaccinated with the MMR, the other had the first MMR jab but not the second as she's not due it yet) had just been diagnosed with measles, having been to Wales recently. My DDs were at their house playing, and DD2 has just come down with a temperature, the first symptom of measles, 10 days after seeing the friend's children, which is the incubation period).
Both my DDs are vaccinated (again, DD1 (4yrs) with both doses, and DD2 (23 months) with one as she's too young to have had the second yet). And btw, this is absolutely not a discussion about the pros and cons of vaccination.
I am trying to find out whether it's possible if DD2 might have measles even if the rash doesn't appear, or whether the rash always appears. Obviously we will inspect her carefully over the coming days to see if there is a rash, but just wondering how careful to be in the meantime with her contact with other young children.
