Anyone know at what age children get the MMR jab? DS is 2, we are in S Wales and have just had a letter from DD's school re getting vaccinated. Not sure if DS has had it yet as part of his jabs. Anyone know when they are meant to have it done?
Thanks.

Usually the first one is around 12 months.

First one is usually at around 13 months and the pre school booster is usually around age of 4. Do you have your red book you can checK - it would be logged in there.

Thanks for the replies. So if DS has just had the first jab (he's two) will he have immunity from measles? Haven't heard anything from our doctor's surgery re getting the second immunisation early.

the first jab gives immunity to around 90% of recipients and the second jab improves that figure so he may or may not be fully protected.

Worth a phone call to GP for advice then. Thanks!

Second MMR doses can be given earlier than 3yrs so well worth calling the GP for advice as already mentioned.
