Using lice lotion 3 times close together?

We have all had lice. We've used Hedrin twice now, one week apart - last time on Thursday.

DS and DH have started scratching again today..

I was going to go and try something else tomorrow, like Lyclear but friend said I shouldn't use stuff 3 consecutive weeks in row and not as soon as tomorrow for sure

Right or wrong? Should I just comb through daily?

DS is 2.3

Desperate to get rid of it - I had it for almost a month

Lyclear is rubbish. Did DD on Monday and still found some of the buggers today, clearly newly hatched. I am a nit ninja and only used the lotion as she was going away, but am sick of having to pick them out. Did my own hair too. I'm even considering getting it all cut off because I just can't do the condition and comb method in my long fine hair. DD1 complains like buggery and I can't even get near the toddler.

Thanks and sorry you're having trouble

But is it appropriate to use a lotion like hedrin three times?

No idea. Have you had a look at the website or instruction leaflet? Can you just use the condition & comb method, especially with boys?

Are you combing through with nit comb too or jusr relying on the lotion? I've been using Hedrin Once on DD1 when required as it claims to suffocate both live lice and the eggs but I still comb through every other day for at least a week just to make sure. The 'normal' Hedrin I think needs to be used twice - a week apart to catch any unhatched ones that might have slipped through but you still need to do the combing.

Absolutely fine to use Hedrin as often as you like- it has no pesticides in it. But you shouldn't need to- if you combine it with efficient combing, twice, or even once should be enough.

Did you really soak their hair, and did you leave it in for 8 hours?

Did you do everyone in the house? Including adults?

You can't just use hedrin & expect it to get rid, you need to get a nitty gritty comb and comb everyone, then comb again, and again and again.

Itching doesn't necessarily mean nits. Even after successful removal of nits, there can be some itching, depending on how bad the scalp was bitten. The scalp will be healing, and in the same way a scab on your body itches, so does the scalp. Hedrin can also cause itching.

If you use conditioner, before using hedrin or any other lotion, you should shampoo hair, and dry before using the lotion. The conditioner can prevent the lotion from working properly.
