Sudden eczema that is spreading

My 6-year-old used to get a tiny (thumbnail) sized eczema patch if she had too much milk as a baby, but that was about it. She had a inch-square patch on her leg last week, and now has about seven of them (all on the legs). The pharmacist has recommended a simple moisturiser and I am doing oat baths, but I would welcome any advice (or any theories about why this has happened). Diet = same; I changed the washing powder a couple of months ago but we are back on our usual one now; she is not ill. Thank you!

Are you totally certain it's eczema and not a skin infection (which can follow on from an eczema flare-up as the damaged skin is more susceptible). Maybe worth a gp trip to check if it doesn't start to resolve soon?

Not totally certain - it looks like eczema, but the fact that new patches keep appearing is weird. will go to the GP tomorrow.

I posted earlier about this, my sons 1 and took him for injections yesterday said he had a rash and could they have a look before, doctor came in and said it was either viral as he has a cold but most likely eczema as its dry, today it has spread all over his tummy, back, bum and ahem willy region..just above and tops of his legs.. Sorry to hijack but I'm
Confused what to do... Don't want to put oilatum on and make it worse

My dd often has post-viral rash and does have a cold. Will update after I go to the gp's.

This might sound a bit far out, but check for Worms. It's estimated that 50% of kids in the UK have these at any given moment, (With many parents not realising).I spent hours searching the net on this subject matter recently and found several threads saying that these little blighters can agrevate/cause eczema, the Docs will look at you as it you are mad, but it ties in with sudden onslaught of eczema type symptoms in all three of my boys (inc my hubby).
