Fast breathing in 9 month old

Ds is 9 months old. He's had a bad cold now for a week. We were at the drs on Friday and I have some drops to give him to break down some rubbish on his chest.

He's really not been himself today and hasn't eaten anything nor does he want water. I can BF him so he's getting some fluids.

I've just taken his temp and it's 38.8 and I've given him some paracetamol. It's his breathing though that worries me - it seems to be very fast. One of his ears is also very hot.

Not sure what to do. Do you think he needs to see a dr tonight? I'm not in the UK so no NHS Direct so I would need to go to the childrens hospital which is a short walk away......

How many breaths per minute ? Is the skin under his ribs or round his trachea pulling in? If so he needs seen.

Tbh I'd get him seen anyways as it sounds like an ear or chest infection,

Given his age I would get him checked tonight.
