(very) windy 18 month old - help!

My little boy is 18 months old and has a good appetite. He's always loved his fruit but recently has started having lots of (very smelly) wind, especially towards the afternoon. I had noticed it but being my first I thought it was normal but the nursery have commented that it is excessive. He's happy in himself so I'm not sure what I need to do - should I get him checked out? He still has a bottle of (cows) milk first and last thing.
Any advice much appreciated!

He might be lactose intolerant. Could you try rice or soya milk for a week and see if it improves?

my 19month old still suffers from wind, i have to burp her! Her wind is much much worse during teething so maybe it could be that? Try the powders as they settle their stomach

Please don't give an 18mo rice milk, it's not advised as a main drink for under 5's now. Something to do with the (trace amounts) of arsenic in it being ok for adults, and DC's over 5, but too high for those under 5yo.

My advice not to give rice milk to the under 5's comes directly from an NHS allergy specialist dietician.

Better alternatives would be Karo coconut milk (though it has an odd, 'bitty' texture), or Oatly milk.
