Spreading rash in dd - please help me diagnose what may be wrong

Really strange situation wtih my dd who is 11 and a half.

A few nights ago we had to use Full marks lice lotion on her and she kept her shirt on and after moussing up all her hair her back ended up very wet with it. Laughed and changed shirt and showered and rinsed off mousse. Wet combed through and went to bed. Next day ( or maybe day after i can't recall) dd asked me to look at a rash on her back. She seemed to have raised red dots evrywhere. Thought that as her back had become wet through from the mousse through her shirt it must have been a reaction to the Full Marks and gave her some piriton . She wasn't at all itchy and no other systmes.

Went to school fine but when she came home she showed me that it had spread to her chest and shoulders. These were still areas that potentially could have been soacked by the full marks so I stil put it down to that. Rash is like hard raised tiny pimples.

Next day ( today ) it has spread to her tummy and half way down her arms! Not areas that woudl have been affected by the Full marks.

No change of washing powder or soaps lately.

Any ideaas anyone? Going to book GP for monday but hoping it will have gone by then as very hard to sit there for the hours that we always have to with toddler in tow for something which I doubt GP can help with anyhow

Anything else happened recently like any viruses or sore throats?

Actually yes but a little while back now - about 2 weeks ago dd had tonsillities and prescribed antibs. She finished the antib course at least 10 days ago or more I think

is it this - my DD had it. Dr said it was quite unusual particularly in younger people but not anything to be worred about.

Have the lice gone? Could they be some other little bitey things getting at her? (We had a cat flea infestation in the summer and dd's legs had hundreds of bites before we could fog/spray/treat & kill all the nasty little critters.

Otherwise..heat rash?
Or the beginnings of chicken pox?
is she feeling unwell, or any other symptoms?
It could be a non specific virus, in which case you will probably see virus type symptoms developing over the weekend.

Full Marks is pretty harsh stuff though. There is an alternative, called Hedrin (? Or something like that) which is an oil with no smell, it improves the condition of the hair as well, unlike Full Marks.

Ahhh, def mention that to the gp. Could be really helpful in diagnosis. In the mean time I'd try and keep her skin nice and moisturised.

Could it be scarlet fever?

That's one of my thoughts too dikkert, or guttate psoriasis. (But doesn't really sound like that)

Thanks fro messages.

Lucysmum - kind of you to link but no it isn't that. Looks like a typical viral rash but more raised so pimplish.

Re full marks I know its harsh but dd has had lice on and off since late August and we got desparate. Thought we'd nailed it for a while but no we must have missed a few as the buggers came back. Tried Hedrin and not worked.

We did wet cmobing every night for a few weeks but after we thought it had worked they came back. Told dd now to watch girls she sits near at school as it must be coming from somewhere ( I have 3 other dds and when we treat dd we also wet comb them and no lice at all so convinced it must be coming from someone else dd mixes with and she is getting reinfected).

Happytorquiose - could be other bitey things? We don't have any pets so can't think so . No symptoms of anything else whatsoever. She has had chicken pox.

Goodness I never considered scarlet fever but she has just recovered from tonsillitis so poentially ..... But she is not ill or in any discomfort at all and has absolutely no temperature or sore throat. Its a mystery.......

I think you can get a rash after amoxicillin whivh is often prescribed for tonsillitis.
