Hi, continuity thread for my little DS (3) who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma last week. Much gratitude for all the support the Trazzles have received. You nasty nest of vipers, you grin

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Thu 06-Dec-12 08:19:03

Thanks sc. A broken fridge here means no milk and therefore no RL brew for me sad. And [sleepy]

strictlycaballine Thu 06-Dec-12 08:27:46

Oh no Trazzles That's the last thing you need! Any coffee shops in the vicinity?

Thumbwitch Thu 06-Dec-12 11:11:19

Isn't it cold enough to just leave the milk outside the window where you are, Trazzle? wink
No, sorry to hear that you have that inconvenience on top of everything else, you just don't need it. Hope it's fixed soon.

Glad the chemo is going well anyway. smile thanksbrew

onedev Thu 06-Dec-12 23:36:59

On a team night out so splodging from Birmingham. grin

ShiftyFades Sat 08-Dec-12 16:14:13

Sorry I haven't been on lately, continuing building works are making me grumpy and frustrated all pretty unpleasant to be around wink

I'm still following though and was delighted to read about those levels coming down.

How is joe today? How are you and DH?

Look after yourself and my hand is always on offer to hold yours xxx

blizy Sat 08-Dec-12 21:14:18

Hi trazzles, just checking in. I'm glad Joe is doing well, boo to the broken fridge! Is it not cold enough to leave some milk outside? I was at a SANDS service last night for my dd and I lit a candle for all the trazzles. X

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Sat 08-Dec-12 21:14:58

Yup, we're alright, thanks. Got home from chemo last night.

A very productive stay in hospital, as I met a mum whose son has NB and is currently going through the last stage of treatment.

Also the ward was quite quiet so I managed to have a good chat with a couple of the nurses about what comes next. They were very reassuring and explained that the little boy who died a few weeks ago (during the next bit of treatment) was an exception. The staff really are fantastic. I want to hug them all but suspect that might be a teeny bit inappropriate ( until this is all done, at least!).

We've got some dates for tests at the end of the chemo and we'll be in on Christmas Eve for a bone marrow biopsy. Cross your fingers that they don't find a reason to keep us in grin.

Joe is bearing up ok and has started eating again, which is always a relief. He had an amazing appetite before all this started so its our obvious marker of how he is coping.

Buffy we are so looking forward to seeing you on Monday.

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Sat 08-Dec-12 21:16:58

Thanks blizy. A good friend lost her DD within an hour of birth, SANDS do an amazing job.

Yes, it would be cold enough but the ward is on the first floor, and the windows don't open either. Ah well, that's what Costa's is for!

FivesGoldNorks Sat 08-Dec-12 21:19:56

Just checking in. Glad Joe is eating

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sat 08-Dec-12 21:20:41

That all sounds very positive Trazzle, hope you all have a good weekend and fingers crossed for Christmas Day at home.

Had you noticed that this thread is nearly full?

blizy Sat 08-Dec-12 21:22:16

Yip, SANDS really are amazing, I doubt dh or I would have got through the past 18 months without them. So, sorry to hear of your friends dd, so sad.

Oops, I thought you meant your fridge at home blush

I have everything crossed that Joe will be home for Christmas.

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Sat 08-Dec-12 22:44:53

blizy I'm sorry for what you've been through too.

I had realised its filling up, but I was debating whether or not to start a new one.

Don't get me wrong, your support is invaluable to me and I've found these threads so helpful and really cathartic (is that the right word?).

I just worry a bit that I'm being self-important and thinking that people want to hear the minutiae of our lives when there are so many other people on here who are going through the same thing... I'm not sure whether I'm explaining myself well enough.

Maybe because we're just trundling along at the moment though it will all kick off again at any time.

WhoKnowsWhereTheMistletoes Sat 08-Dec-12 22:52:48

I'd follow another thread, I know we are both regulars on another one but that one gets so busy i miss things on it, it would be good to carry on checking in with you here, not self important at all. This one has slowed down, which is only natural, but I bet there are an awful lot of posters still lurking and posting occasionally who feel the same way as me. There might be other people in similar situations to you reading it too. It's a bit like a blog I suppose. Anyway, whatever you think is best. x

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Sat 08-Dec-12 22:58:28

Maybe I will then, thanks whoknows. As I said, it does really help me let off steam and I guess if people want to, they can just hide it, eh.

Right, ill start a new one and link to it in the morning when I'm on the Pc (not PVC as my phone just suggested!).

pushmepullyou Sat 08-Dec-12 22:59:19

I'm still lurking and feel the same xx

I don't think it's self important at all, but I can imagine how keeping up with the thread could become a bit of an extra chore in itself, and if that's the case then it might be good for you to have a bit of a break. You can always come back if you need to smile

thewhistler Sat 08-Dec-12 23:13:22

Trazzle, love the name btw, no, it is not self important.

Do whatever is right for you.

If you need a break, take it, if you want reassurance that people are here to listen, continue to keep this going. I don't always post but I do keep a look out most days, and keep Joe and you and the rest of you in my thoughts.

You may find Christmas stressful, so if you need a place to vent, use us. It is one of the few things that we can do for one another in humanity.

Blizy, so sorry.

Thumbwitch Sat 08-Dec-12 23:23:36

I also agree that you should start a new thread, Trazzle - people like to know how things are going, fir you and Joe, and it's good for you to have the venting space. Plus others who may be in a similar situation but can't bring themselves to start their own thread may benefit from the help, support, advice and own stories that are posted on your threads... so not self-important at all, really! grin

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Sat 08-Dec-12 23:27:23

Ok I'll link in the morning, but otherwise it's in Children's Health and is called Joe vs. The Cancer.

fraktion Sat 08-Dec-12 23:28:55

It's not self-important.

I would follow it. Still thinking of you here and if you want to continue I would be happy to hear updates. Also if you did ever need help and there was something a random Internet fairy stranger could do a thread like this is the way I'd know.

I'm not explaining this very well... These threads are first and foremost for you but other people feel involved and maybe help too, but that's not a reason for you to feel you have to continue, just that the support would be there because we care.

Anyway fingers firmly crossed for Christmas Eve!

BehindLockNumberNine Sun 09-Dec-12 08:42:33

Still here and still splodging light your way. Think of you often. Hope all continues to go well and will everything crossed for Christmas Eve.

New thread not self-indulgent at all, if it helps you then it helps you and if ever we can be of any support we will be there.

NorksAreTinselly Sun 09-Dec-12 17:24:31

trazzle I do t think you're being self indulgent AT ALL.
You asked for a hand to hold and you have not asked for us to stop holding it. I am with you for the whole journey.

NorksAreTinselly Sun 09-Dec-12 17:25:07

Meant to put the word JOURNEY inside some ironic """"""""" s

BeginningtoffeealotlikeXmas Sun 09-Dec-12 21:21:17

I would follow a new thread too, Trazzle. I don't get on MN every day at the moment, but I think of you often and I like to be able to see how things are going. It is so brilliant that the news is all so positive at the moment.

TrazzleMISTLEtoes Sun 09-Dec-12 22:09:03

2nd time lucky? Here it is... new thread As usual, thank you so very much for all your support.
