DD has my cold. Keeps sneezing and can't breath properly. She's really nasally and snores when asleep. Keeps snorting as well, sounds like a little pig! Got saline drops but wondered if anyone had any ideas of what might help. Ta.

you can get karvol oil , put it on a pillow I think, which helps them breathe easier:)

Can you put it on your boob?! That's her favourite pillow! Seriously tho, I shall look for some tomorrow. She sounds like a strangled cat at the moment, not happy at all bless her.

Karvol on a muslin nearby works well!! a nasal aspirator might help too as will clear the nose and lots of saline nose drops. Oh and cuddlesGrin

You can buy snot suckers in Boots. Haven't ever tried them though, I think saline works well. And lots of comfort feeds, poor you and her:(

Bowl of water on her radiator to humidify the room and help her breathe. Raise the cot up at head end with books
Snot sucker and karvol plug in

The boots snot sucker is my favourite bit of kit, best 8 quid I ever spent. Disgusting, but so satisfying. Hope she's better soon.

My DD has not long got over her first cold. I was advised to raise the head end of her cot (or Moses basket) which helped. I got a plug in thing that's like those air fresheners but releases karvol overnight. This was brilliant and got over my pfb panic of the capsules being too strong "neat"

Hope the little mite feels better soon

YY to raising head of bed with books. You could also run the shower for a while and take baby into steamy bathroom.

Thank you everyone. Got the head end of Moses basket raised already, problem is she tends to sleep with her head on my boob! Think another trip to Boots is in order for a snot sucker and karvol plug in. At least with a snot sucker won't have to put my finger up her nose all the time!

Keep the room humid e.g. have a bowl of water near a radiator. If running a bath or shower, get the room steamy and bring the baby in. If bf, keep offering and try different positions to find what works, it'll change.

My 14 weeks old is suffering all of a sudden tonight. I've given her calpol, sprayed saline up her nose, which didn't go well Blush. My Dsis gave me a Vicks plugin, which I've got plugged next to my bed. Bloody gorgeous smell Grin

I can't raise her cot though, as I'm on my own and can't lift it Confused

Hopefully your Dd will get a good nights sleep x
