Wind/Colic natural remedy?

My 5 week old son wakes in the night at about 2am, very unsettled. He doesn't scream but will do if i dont console him. I think its colic/wind because he raises he knees to chest and just seems unhappy (he's normally a very happy baby). For the rest of the night until 7am he wakes every 20 minutes to every hour wanting comfort - food/ cuddles/burping. He does this at no other time of the day. Can anyone say if this is wind/ colic and if so, do you know of any natural remedies? I don't like the idea of putting medicines down him at such an early age.

There are some brilliant baby massage techniques that work on wind. Best to find a baby massage teacher and get them to show you.

If he's BF, try cutting out onions, brassicas such as cauli and broccoli, spices etc - any foods you eat that could cause wind.

If he's on formula you could try changing the formula or making up the feed with peppermint or fennel tea, both of which relieve wind.

I had DS2 in Germany. He suffered from crippling wind where his body would go rigid in pain. The only thing that immediately worked was fennel tea, steeped for not too long/strong, and sipped from bottle (he was a newborn). You could actually feel and hear the bubbles burst in his tummy and he relaxed completely.

I was sceptical but it was incredible and instant relief. It's one of the things I learned when becoming a mum that I want to tell EVERYONE about

Second the fennel tea - for yourself and baby. Chamomile also worth a try. There's a herbal thing called Windy Pops which is also great.

Thanks. Should i be drinking fennel tea and chamomile or should baby drink it. Also, should he drink it when he has wind or in the day - he has wind at 2 am normally. He is BF.
