DS has all the symptoms except it's not on his hands. Is it always on hands and feet or can it be feet only? I'm taking him to the docs later to check but wondered what you lot thought.

I'm obviously keeping him off nursery but does it mean that we have to stay at home during half-term and not go near anybody else whilst he has his spots?! We had so many plans!!!

DD has it right now as well, you're supposed to keep them away from other children up to the age of 10.

Obviously you can't be expected not to go to the supermarket etc but, yeah, we're more or less stuck indoors with it.

DD has it mostly on feet and slightly on hands but it can change from day to day.

Hope you're getting more peaceful nights than i am!

It's not causing us any problems at all, luckily - DS was really poorly last week but he's completely fine now other than these spots; you would never know he was ill. Sorry that your DD is suffering! Seems to be over within about a week, usually, so hope she is bouncing around again soon!

Talk to your doctor, we were not excluded even from school or nursery when we had it. As the advice here says. We were not at all ill really, and were lucky to not get any infected ones in the mouth. Ours started on hands and then went onto the feet.
The worst bit was that it felt like the blisters you can get from a long walk, but on your hands.

My daughter got sent home from nursery on Mon. She had blisters on her tongue and nowhere else but took her to gp who said it was hand foot and mouth! She was pretty unhappy all week so good luck

Think my DD has it too! Got a docs appointment later this morning. None on her hands at the moment, but mouth, feet and buttocks. Severe lack of sleep last night - why does it happen when DH is on nights!

Oops, just started a similar thread without checking! Ds has it on hands, knees and nappy area and wasn't sure it was HFM though the doc said was suspected case. Hope he doesn't get it in mouth. Get well wishes to your little ones!
