I have given him the 2.5 of calpol which I may double up at next dose but any way to help him out? He is so unhappy and non stop crying (the choking type) the poor thing. Am keeping him cool.

I want to cry for him.

Careful, I think you need to check the Calpol dosage instructions. 5ml is too much for a baby that young. How much does the baby weigh?

If the reaction seems out of proportion to the jabs then take him back to the GPs. He may have another, unconnected, illness and is still very little. As diyvspse says DO NOT give more than the recommended dose of calpol. Paracetamol (in calpol) can be very very dangerous in overdose, and by overdose I mean sometimes only twice the recommended amount. It can cause irreversible liver damage.

He was12lb8last week and putting on about 8 oz a week.
Cuddles and calpol r easing things so far...

Jimmy, that type of crying doesn't sound like a normal reaction. I would definitely report it to the doctor. There may be a few children with similar reactions and if so, they would have to look at the batch to make sure it wasn't damaged/contaminated. You can also report it yourself Here

OP, please don't worry unduly that the jabs have done something to your baby - adverse reactions are quite rare. But I would def take him back to the gp if he is no better today.
