Toddler picked up a tummy bug, has been throwing up for 11 days now. Went to Docs on Friday and they said it's just a virus nothing we can do. She had a similar bug only 1 month ago which I mentioned to the Doc. Should I go back with her or just keep waiting until she gets over it? I'm concerned about her loosing weight.
Confused

11 days is a heck of a time. Is it once a day or lots?
If it's once a day it's worth noting whether it's at the same time (eg first thing in the morning) or after eating/doing something particular.
If it's lots of times a day then I would be making a fuss at the doctors. I know our surgery starts ringing alarm bells after 5 days with a preschooler.

Thanks DeWe. Some days she's just throwing up the once now, other days it's two or three times, seems to be either at the beginning or end of the day and seems to be pretty much everything she's eaten scince the last time she was sick. I've been trying to limit the amount she eats and just give her plain things like bread, but she's getting really hungry and cross when she sees her siblings eating.

Go back and see if there is another GP you can see in the clinic instead for a 2nd opinion.

I've made it to 7 days before ' bothering' a GP. 11 days for a young child is more than long enough to necessitate a visit.
