Never ending cold, allergy or anxiety?

My 11yo ds has been not right for months, at least as far back as April. He's a bit snotty, but not needing to blow his nose more than 3 times a day. He has a bit of a cough, sometimes seems chesty and other times dry and tickly. He also is clearing his throat A LOT. He says it feels as though his throat is blocked. The coughing and throat clearing is definitely worse during the evening and while he's settling to sleep. He's not got a temperature, he's eating normally and it's not stopping him doing anything except getting to sleep.

I thought the throat clearing was anxiety to start with, but he's had a relaxing few weeks and I'm no longer sure.

I took him to the GP in May and June. She seemed unconcerned and said it was viral?

If your Gp isn't concerned then it is probably nothing to worry about, just take him back again soon though if he's still no better, could it be his tonsils playing up ?

There is also a chance your DS could be allergic to something as you say. Do you have cats?,

Well I'm allergic to cats and if I'm near one I get tight chested, snuffly etc

Your pets may not be the cause but you could look into the possibilty
