I'd appreciate your views if your child's had them.
My 9 yr old dd has never been dry at night and did a 3 month course of desmopressin tablets, around December, suggested by gp.Was partially successful, but had to double dose.On coming off, she's wet again.I wanted to try more natural alarm which i thought would be a permanent cure,so seen school nurse.Tried increasing water to 1.5l as suggested for 2 weeks. No change.Nurse told me it could take weeks/months with alarm and i don't think i could cope with that as no tumble drier for sheets and she wets every night,i think more than once.Going to gp again this week as nurse recommended desmomelts to the gp,who now wants to speak to us.Nurse said that the body usually responds best after being on them for 6 months, but gp did not mention that to us(just the recommended 3 months course)
So want a permanent cure. Are desmomelts a cure or any better than desmopressin.Nurse tells me she is more 'educated' on bedwetting than gps usually are,so i feel maye this thing does need more specialist help?.
Have any of you done alarms and how was it to use/how long e.t.c.
thanks
happy

She has been on/off for nearly 3 years now for varying periods. Haven't done the alarm as the nurse said it's not good if you share a room. Also she doesn't sleep for long anyway. Her problem is definitely lack of the hormones and it's a matter of waiting til her body produces them
