Ds who is 3 had a bit of a shock about an hour ago. He got his fingers trapped in an automatic door in a shop.
His fingers seem ok, just red, not swollen. The staff were really helpful but seemed concerned at ds's reaction. He cried loudly for a few seconds then I picked him up and sat down with him on my lap and he almost immediately started falling asleep. They thought he might be a bit shocked.
I carried him back to the car when he was quiet but seemed ok and drove home where he fell asleep on the way and is still sleeping on my lap now.
If his fingers are not physically hurt badly, is it ok that he is sleeping off the shock?
Can shock be bad? What should I look out for in case he needs to go to the doctor?
Thanks!
