Chicken pox worry!

Hi peeps,

How long after contracting chicken pox, do the spots actually show...??

We went to a friend's party on 21st May and 2 days later she text to say her little one had started with the pox, so I know it is likely that my little one will get it.

However, please tell me that the spots won't show until after 31st....? We have tickets for a show, and DS is SO excited! DH and I are worrying every minute that after waiting so long to go... oooh it doesn't even bear thinking :( Please tell me they won't show this soon and we'll be able to go... (I guess if you think they will, I'd rather not know, so that we can keep on thinking positively!) :)

I have been around hordes of other children 2 or so days before DC came out with pox, and (to my knowledge) no one else got it
