Chickenpox question urgent

My friend is coming to stay today (tuesday) and her 3rd DS had first chickenpox spots 10 days ago is there ANY chance whatsoever that my boys can catch it as we are going away in 2 weeks.
I know there is a 7 day contagious period so we should be ok but I'm obviously worried as its our first holiday for a long time!

Is your friend coming with her DCs from your pst I get she she coming alone. In that case no chance of contagion at all, unless she never had it before.
If her DCs are coming it also depends on how many of them had it before, some might be incubating and will get sick at your place.

The incubation period is anything up to 21 days.

You don't count the contagious period in terms of number of days. Someone with chickenpox is infectious until every single spot has dried and scanned over. This is typically less than a week, but can last longer if there are still spots which have not scabbed.

If her other kids have had it and only youngest with it now, I would say 10 days since 1st spot is ok to no longer be contag.
Once spots scab over it's ok. Late appearing spots do not tend to scab but are much smaller but I would say still ok. If older kids have not had it before then yes all contagious. Hideously so
