The problem is, we never know with DS2 if the "illness" is as bad as he makes it out to be

DS2 is a bit of a dramatist. nothing is ever straightforward with him. He's 11

He las seems to get very, well jealous (for want of a better word), if other people in the house are ill, or getting attention. As some of you know I sufer with Fibromyalgia. Well, when I get a flare up, say in my feet, he decideds he has sore feet tooGrin. If I get a migraine, he gets on too - although he doesn't because he says "I'll go to bed and watch tv" well sorry but with a migraine you think your brains going to explode so tv is the last thing on your mind.
It was DS1's birthday yesterday and all through his opening his cards, DS2 talked about himself, and didn't like DS1 getting attention

Anyway, last night I picked him up at football. I knew immedaitely there was something worng with him, I could tell by his face.He started off by saying that the adults in charge were tagging younge rplayers (under 5) by gently touching them on shoulder, but the older players they were slapping themHmm. By the time we got home this had developed into a very exxageratedlimp, and he was saying that his friend had jumped on his ankle when tackling him!

There's no bruising at all, no swelling of any sort, no discolouration etc. In fact it looks normal. But hes refusing to weight bear on it, he is doing very exagerated limping - asking for my wlaking stick to wlak etc, asking me to carry him to loo. He also says he was awake all night - well he wasn't because I was awake most of it and was checking on him.

Anyway he's lying in our bed - having crawled there from his ! and I know this sounds awful, but I don't think it's as bad as he's making it out to be. But he will not walk on it at all. I also gave hima soluble paracetamol but he's refusing to take it, he wants calpol! So i'll need to trail to village shop to get it

LOL.
Dd2 is like that. If she says she hurts/sick etc. I add huge handfuls of salt unless I can see evidence. It's very rare she's proved me wrong.
Dd1 is the opposite, so if she says something hurts I know it's bad and has been some time. She did 2 ballet shows and a swimming party before she let me know that she wa in real pain. turned out to be pneumonia and she admitted later it had been hurting for a couple of weeks. Had great difficulty in persuading her she couldn't go to school with it too.

My theory is that if they're really in pain then they'll take the 6+ calpol (that they don't like the taste) If they're asking for the baby calpol then they're not in enough pain to need it.
