11yo hair falling out?

Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with their DC please.

DS1 is 11 and said he had noticed his hair falling out. Was so shocked when I saw his bed/pillow. Seemed to settle down after a couple of days, noticed it again this morning.

He has VERY thick hair and even with all of this fallen out it is still thick. There are no bald patches, just generally shedding all over. He was a little stressed when starting high school last year but seems really happy now. I have noticed his hair seemed coarser than normal but now he's using conditioner it looks lovely and healthy.

Will take him to doctors anyway but am really concerned and wondered if anyone had experienced similar?
