six year old teething?!

My six year old DS has been complaining of a sore gum at the back of his mouth. It feels like a molar may be about to break through. Can this be right? He's pretty miserable at the moment and waking at night with the pain. Does teething start all over again? Oh the horror, the horror...

Yes, they are the six year molars! My dd has recently had them too. I bought her an amber necklace which seems to have eased the pain, or you could rub bonjella on his gums at night.

I currently have DD age almost 2, DS1 age 11 and DS2 age 7 all cutting molars!

Yes kids only get 20 baby teeth but adults have 28 teeth so the last molars and wisdom teeth are coming through around the time the baby ones are falling out.
