What should I take to hospital for overnight stay with 4 month old baby?

Hi,
DD has to go into hospital overnight this week for gastric tests . I'll be staying with her. Wondering what's useful to take in. I think I've got all the obvious stuff covered (nappies and changing stuff, clothes, toys, clothing and toiletries for me). Is there anything I need that might not have occurred to me to take?

a good book, magazines, change for phone, coffee,pen and paper to write down questions you think of in middle of night,small touch to read through night, anything to take mind of not being able to sleep!

What everyone else has said. Food and drink is essential, find out if the ward has a parents room with microwave if so you can take ready meal for yourself.

Really comfy clothes and shoes - I always make sure I have my slippers with me for around the ward.

If there is any chance of it being more than one night i would get some dry shampoo! Having a wash down/ shower is often easy enough on the wards but sitting with wet hair wouldn't be comfy!

thanks everyone! yes, there is a parents' room with a microwave and a fridge. slippers is also a good idea. as is blanket for me hospitals seemto alternate between being boiling hot and freezing cold. layers i think. it should just be the one night - i think they want us in overnight so she can be prepped at the crack of dawn, rather than the nature of the investigations meaning that she needs an overnight stay in hospital to recover/be monitored iyswim.

extra top - dd delighted in puking on me once, so I spent the night in a hospital gown... that was fun!

I would not worry about toys for baby, maybe take a favourite one but it's more exciting for them to play with new toys that the ward has.

Headphones for the TV's, which you will need to purchase a payment card for should you wish to watch it after 7pm.

Flip flops as well as slippers - if you want to stand in the shower and not on tip toe. Maybe a towel as well - hospital towels are tiny and sometimes a bit scratchy and holey! Hope all goes well

Earplugs if you are confident you'll hear your baby through them - wards are very noisy places.

Portable DVD player/ Laptop for films for once the ward has shut down for the night but its still very early.

At our children's ward breastfeeding mums are fed although the food leaves a little to be desired.
