Croup in 11 week old?

Hi,

Any advice or personal experieces would be appreciated very much.

Her brother's six, and has just come down with croup (which his cousin (3) had first). He's fairly bad... considered hospital for a while, but seems to be settlin now.

What if 11 week old catches it? Is that very dangerous in such a young baby? What should I do if I see any signs in her?

Thanks :)

Hi both of mine have croup at the moment, though they are 5yrs & 9months so not as little as your DD.
Have you got some Calpol at home in case she gets a temp? I just had a look at the box & it says can be used from 2 months so you can give your DD that.
She may get a cough/wheeze - you could try sitting in the bathroom with shower on hot - the steam will help. Also put wet towel on radiator in bedroom to keep air moist. If in doubt do see your doctor as they can be off their food, which is not great in such a small baby. I also use karvol plug-in vapourisers for my Ds's, but just check they are ok for young baby. Hope she's ok Smile
