Cows milk pr allergy, which formula best tolerated?

if your baby has an allergy to cow's milk you need to see your GP for a hypoallergenic formula such as Nutramigen (not all allergic babies can tolerate this though), or a synthetic one such as Neocate

please don't buy soy/goat formulas from the supermarket. they are not all nutritionally complete and are not recommended for babies as a main drink

My DS was diagnosed with cmp allergy with a skin prick test and is on Aptamil Pepti, which is based on hydrolised whey protein and is much closer in taste to normal Aptamil. It also contains some lactose (unlike Nutramigen, neocate and soy formulas). My DS has taken to it very well, but if your baby has a severe allergy he may well only tolerate Neutramigen or Neocate, which unfortunately taste very weird. Apparently babies under 6 months take to these better because their taste buds haven't developed fully.
Pepti by the way is only available on prescription...
