DS, 8, has just chipped the his beautiful front tooth. I'll obviously make an appointment to see the dentist, but is there anything I should know now to help reduce further damage? TIA.

my DS1 did the same when he was mucking about having a pillow fight with his dad. He banged his tooth on his dads head and it chipped a v shaped piece out of his top front one. I was so angry and sad at the same time. Same day the dentist built the tooth up with a veneer. you cant even see it 8 years down the line and we were told it would need replacing. but so far so good.

good luck

when dd bumped her tooth it went grey, like an internal bruise the dentist said, so i would consider giving her arnica if it happened again as it took months and months to colour up again. can't do any harm i don't think, as apparently it takes a month for teeth to show internal damage from a bump.

i believe it goes bruised if you damage the nerve. hopefully he has not damaged it.

get to dentist asap as you dont want any infection or sweet food to get in broken tooth.
