Brace run over

DD1 has a removable brace in preparation for a planned fixed one in the next few months. It's paid for by the NHS fortunately as we'd have no chance of paying for it.

DD put it in her pocket earlier (grrrr!) and it fell out and got run over (double GRRRR!).

It's broken into small pieces so clearly will not be repairable.

So, will we have to pay to replace it? If we do how much is it likely to cost?

Please can I have a pat on the back for not having shouted at her?

Thank you Pixie.

That's a relief and I think even we could find £20 so that's even better Grin

DH gets to go and grovel to the orthodontist so I'll pass on your comment.

How old is your dd, Al1son? And when did she have temp brace fitted? Have been told by dentisi that ds will need a brace when older as his teeth are too big! Just want to know whenish!

Well I'll keep my fingers crossed that we're in an area like Pixie's. TBH £58 is still less than I thought it could be but it would be harder to find.

I know it was her Asperger's that meant she didn't think through what she was doing but for heaven's sake we really could have done without this.

We'll find out on Monday. Maybe they'll be kind to us.

I'm in the south and it's £50 here. The hospital have been very clear about this cost and have mentioned it a few times. If they haven't told you a replacement cost you might be lucky and get another without a charge.

Thank you for feedback and pats on back.

DD had removable brace fitted just after her 13th birthday and has now had it 4 months. I think it's two more before she gets a fixed brace which she'll keep for 18 months.
