Anyone else's dc got the same symptoms?

Dd is 14. She's been feeling grotty since Monday morning, but went to school on Mondya and Tuesday because there were things she didn't want to miss - but went to bed the minute she got home. Last night she felt worse - incredibly tired, a bit feverish, achy, sore eyes, queasy stomach but still hungry, sore throat - just generally yuck. If it was winter I'd say she had mild flu - can you get flu in the summer? She's had a very busy term and is shattered anyway. But she needs to be better by tomorrow - there's a school thing she can't miss!

Yes you can get flu at anytime of year.

My DS and I had the same symptoms a few weeks ago. Went to the GP who did a throat swab wich turned out to be streptococcal pharyngitis (or strep throat) which can be the first stage of scarlet fever. Not sure if this is the case with your DC but worth checking out.
