Any way to find out if a book is going to be reprinted? (the book is Tim and Tobias if anyone has any great ideas)

Ds is starting to read, and I think he'd love these. It is exactly his sort of thing.

BUT BUT BUT apparently they are out of print and there are no plans to reprint.

I was wondering if it is possible to contact say the publisher and find out? Would a publisher respond to a question like this? Would I speak to a minion with no idea anyway?

Thoughts please. There was a reprint but they are all sold out (have tried various websites-a few are showing as in stock but then I get an email saying...sorry)

IIRC they are Harry Potter in reading book form. But they are on abe for £60

I remeber reading these, and loved them, much more interesting than Kipper and co. Sorry, no real help as I imagine you have already searched on amazon (out of stock but can order, thought that doesn't mean they will ever get any in!). Bumping for you, and thank you as it has been bugging me for ages what these books were called.

Cheapest I have found was... £46, still a little excessive perhaps? Also found a copy of Billy Blue Hat for £44.44, bargain!!

Could be worth contacting the publishers, you will never know if you don't try, and perhaps you could ask why they stopped printing such a great series and replaced it with such a rubbish one which my poor dd (and I) are having to suffer through!

Best of luck with your quest.

it was at waterstones online, I ordered it just after this thread and it is now in my hands!

they had to order it but it was (obviously) very quick

I don't have any, your message reminded me of them and how much I had enjoyed them as a child and I started searching through my usual sites/shops to see if I could find any. I'm confused though (not unusual for me ), the waterstones website says that the book is 128 pages long. The ones I am thinking of were about 32 pages I though, half a page picture, half a page text. Am I on completely the wrong track and searching for something totally different??!!

ah the waterstones one is a compendium i think.

Total bargain if it is for only £4.95. Is it the first series?

hiya mrs woolf....i've tried signing up for the 'hidden people' website but it's not letting me in for some reason.
going back to what you's were on about earlier....i've noticed that the original 32 tim and the hidden people books (4 8 book series ABCD) have been reprinted as 'magic in the wind', 'on the night of the full moon', 'three fires on the dark tower' and 'wind witches and stone men' and these are all going for silly money on amazon and ebay.

i also noticed that there were 4 novella books for older readers (which i haven't read yet) called 'tim and the people of the moonlight', 'the wild witches and the talisman', 'burglars in the yard' & 'magic in the north'. the first of these seems very difficult to get hold of thus is going for silly money like the earlier 4 but the following 3 can be purchased for around £5 from the likes of waterstones or wh smith etc. it seems like them 3 are still in print but the others aren't for some strange reason.

i don't know if any of you's are interested but i also wouldn't have minded getting hold of 'the griffin pirate stories' also by sheila mccullagh for a similar nostalgic trip down memory lane. now i know that there was 20 books originally (2 10 book series) but i'm not sure if these have been reprinted into 2 larger books or not. if anybody as got any information on this or where i can get hold of any of the books i mentioned earlier it would be much appreciated.

Hi all,

I was just wondering that if anyone has the full set of the Tim and the Hidden People Collection whether they would consider making PDF books from the originals; as I personally have struggled very hard to be able to find the vast majority of them all.

(I lost them in a recent house move) and now am having to trawl the internet to try to find them, on eBay thay are selling for what can only be called rediculous prices.

I'm sure it would help many people out there if these books were available as PDF's.

Just in case anyone is still looking for information on the tim and the Hidden People books I've started a website at timandthehiddenpeople.net . It's got as much information as I could find on the books all collected in one space. I have a few of the pages of some of the books available to view as well. If anyone can help me out filling in the blanks that would be great!
