Lots of people have asked for an amazon wishlist for DS's 3rd birthday.

What shall I put on it? I'd like non-fiction as well as story books. He likes cooking and Lego.

He loves

Room on the Broom, Park in the Dark
Night Monkey Day Monkey
Snail and the Whale
Aliens love Underpants
Giraffes can't Dance
Hungry catterpillar, Busy Spider

I hate Thomas

I know this has been done before but DS is running around and I can't concentrate on searching the archives. Sorry.

All help appreciated,

Thanks

OH yes, we have the Gruffalo - it's fab. What is Gruffalo's child like?

I want the Jolly postman, so we'll add that!

And Melly's two links. Thanks

I love books!

ds loves dr seuss and the very retro ones that I had as a kid - "the diggingest dog" (which is actually quite sombre in parts), "the best nest" and "are you my mother", at least one of which is by PD Eastman.

oh, and "marley and me", which is full of pictures of a very cheesey looking american family.

and Thomas (I had to read EIGHT Thomas stories before going to work this morning. AARGH! Although I seem to have mastered the art of reading them without the content entering into my conscious mind...)

What're the rhyming ones? - Chocolate mousse for greedy goose and so on. DS loved those. He also loved the Helen Cooper ones: Pumpkin Soup and the following two - beautiful illustrations. Really loved the Harry & his Bucketful of Dinosaurs series - just make sure you get the originals, not the ones based on the subsequent tv series. Also loved Blue Kangaroo.

And Charlie and Lola? Again the originals by Lauren Child are best.

Non-fiction: you can't beat the Usborne ones for gorgeousness. DS has 'See Inside Castles' and 'See Inside Pirate Ships' - lots to look at and lots of flaps to lift. He also has the jigsaw world atlas.

You've got me started now - I love books!

Slinky Malinki by Lynley Dodd
Any of the Large Family stories by Jill Murphy
Sam's Sandwich is wonderful, but not sure if it is still published.

DS is 4 - his fave at the moment is Usbourne's ]]'www.amazon.co.uk/Jobs-People-Do-Felicity-Brooks/dp/0746088094/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum-21 id=1219342797&sr=8-1 Jobs People Do'.]] It's very good value too as there are 5 stories in it.

He also loves this range which is non-fiction.

Aged 3 he loved these and I have bought them as 3 year old gifts several times.
