Has anyone or their dc got this book?

Is it suitable for a 6 year old (good reader) whose favourite Christmas book is 'Lucy & Tom'?

And what about 'The Night Before Christmas'? Which is the best edition?

TIA (am rushing to order presents from amazon)

Childs christmas in Wales is magical. My 8yr old DD read it recently. I would think that it would go down well... and if it's too old for him/her it won't be in a few years.

Know nothing about Night Before Christmas I'm afraid.

Thanks Orm - magical is exactly the right word for the type of book she wants! I will order it then.

Any recommendations for 'The Night before Christmas', or any other stories?

I absolutely love A Child's Christmas in Wales - I had a lovely tiny paperback with beautiful woodcuts - bought it last Christmas for ds who was 9 (Edward Ardizzone illustrations) and he has just read it again - I think it'd be very suitable for 6 yr old. I love it so much that I used a snippet from it to base my Christmas card on one year - I illustrated the bit where they go down to the sea.

Do you mean 'twas the night before Christmas and all through the house nobody stirred, not even a mouse ?...

Cadelaide, many thanks.

Unfortunately amazan can't deliver in time for Christmas but I will look out for that edition in the bookshop.
