Favourite book for baby

Hey, I want to buy some books for my baby now she's turned 1 and taking a keen interest in some already. What are the best books for this age range? I've got 'tiger came for tea' 'hungry caterpillar' and 'going on a bear hunt' any more suggestions thanks

‘You choose’ is a good one for general pointing at stuff for hours and Dear zoo is a classic. We also liked ‘don't let the pigeon drive the bus’ possibly for slightly older.

My daughter liked the “that’s not my “ range at one, as it had lots of different textures to feel and explore.
We also loved Goodnight Moon, and We’re going on a bear hunt. She loved Brown Bear when she was slightly older, it was fantastic for encouraging her to join in as it’s so repetitive!
Trying to think of some others, my daughters room is like a mini library she has so many books.

Touch and Feel books I had an under the sea one that was a my first... book. Mine Loved it. Lift the flap books.


Was in Waterstones today and the selection for that age group.is beautiful. Take her with you. They usually have little places to sit in the children s bit and see what she is drawn to or go to your library and do the same x

The acorn wood books were loved by both mine, foxes socks, rabbits nap etc.
Also the hairy maclairy books.

My daughter loves a walker book called 'hooray for harry' which is lovely. Also guess how much I love you, going on a bear hunt and the magic porridge pot.

Forgot to say, she likes the Alfie books too. The pictures have lots to look at. Also the large family, which I like because the stories are aimed at the parents really!

10 little dinosaur/pirates/monster

I'd recommend board book versions where possible. My 1yr old had a shelf he could reach and loved picking his own for us to read. The above are some of his favourites.

We also love reading dr Seuss and The Way Home for Wolf

Dear zoo etc are great for this age, and you can use them to help with learning to tak, by e.g. waiting for them to finish the sentence (the last sentence on each page is always repetitive).

Judith Kerr's Mog books have been a great favourite if my DD. They are both funny and charming.

Also the Meg, Mog and Owl books are simpler and also funny

The Maisie Mouse books are also great for this age.

Hairy McClary from Donaldson's Dairy is a great book! There is a whole range of books following all the different characters. My little one has just turned two and can recite most of it by heart!

I love "guess how much I love you".

Ds is 10 months and really enjoys "wheres mr duck?" Where you can lift the flaps. He also likes books worh buttons that play tunes and the "that's not my" books.

My little boy loved Horton hears a who, he loved the rhyming and the mad voices I made when reading!
